Vice President, Dental Services & Product Development

Business Unit: Benco Practice Solutions

The Vice President of Dental Services & Product Development will drive sustainable profitable growth in an integrated collection of technology enabled Benco services, known as Benco Practice Solutions. Our current portfolio includes offerings such as Design, Coaching, Practice Transitions, Insurance, and Software that help independent dentists succeed by fine-tuning people, processes, and plans. This position will develop, implement, and lead the strategic vision of the team in accordance with the overall company vision. This role will partner with Sales and Marketing to grow and develop the current product offerings, while emphasis will be on expanding the services offered to our customer.

The Experience We Are Looking For:

  • Champion new product innovation. Identify new services, translate concepts into prototypes, and scale them into profitable products and services that help independent dentists succeed by fine-tuning their people, processes, and plans.
  • Lead a cohesive and integrated collection of practice facing services, identifying synergies between them - including Design, Coaching, Practice Transitions, Insurance, Software, and others.
  • Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to build business plans, effectively socialize them, and work with stakeholders to gain buy-in and support for investment.
  • Engage in user research to understand our customers.
  • Develop a strategic vision that puts the Solutions team at the forefront of ‘driving dentistry forward’ by developing innovative answers (i.e. small operatories through Design, out-sourced insurance services, new software, etc.) to the challenges faced by dentists across the United States.
  • Be entrepreneurial (‘the relentless pursuit of opportunity without regard to resources currently controlled’) within a bigger organization. Do more with less, adopt the best practices of start-up ventures (as per the Lean Start-Up: Assumption Mapping, Customer Press Release, MVP, Metered Funding, A/B testing, Leading Indicators, Pivot/Persevere).
  • Develop a comprehensive, lead-to-close, pipeline-based selling process that utilizes the inside and outside Sales teams.
  • Team with the Marketing group to develop a marketing plan that leverages literature, SEO, white papers, and customer visits to our CenterPoint locations.
  • Actively measure, and develop a plan to improve, customer satisfaction for Solutions customers.
  • With Sales and Marketing leaders, develop regional sales and profit goals for Solutions, and regularly monitor regional progress.
  • Implement key elements of Benco's talent management system (selection, evaluation, retention, inventory, succession plan) to ensure that Benco is staffed with excellent associates. Where appropriate, identify, recruit, and train experienced independent contractors for in-office coaching; manage an oversight system for independent contractors.
  • Co-travel regularly (no less than monthly) with consultants, TRs, ES’s and others.
  • Monitor competitor activity on a regular basis; attend national and regional tradeshows.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Proven track record of leading technology enabled innovation (e.g. within Product or Innovation team)
  • Effective leadership of individuals and teams.
  • Regular travel to CenterPoint East, Pittston, PA, (minimum 1 week/month) if not located in NEPA area.
