Learning and Development Intern - Spring 2021

Location: Pittston, PA
Business Unit: Human Resources

Benco Dental is seeking a detail orientated, highly motivated, and talented Learning & Development Intern for the Spring 2021 semester, who is interested in understanding and experiencing Learning & Development (instructional design) in a very busy HR Department supporting company-wide training.

The Learning & Development Intern will perform a combination of project-based and learning center administrative functions. This position will gain valuable experience in all aspects of the Learning & Development functions including:

  • Assist with the creation of training modules
  • Edit and update existing training modules
  • Create post training exercises
  • Troubleshoot course activity in the Learning Center (LMS)
  • Assist with project implementation of a key learning system.
  • Effectively communicate changes in company policies and procedures via learning guides
  • Track grades in the Learning Center (LMS)
  • Assist team members and staff

A key takeaway of this Learning & Development Internship is working within a associate facing learning center, the opportunity to create/prepare live learning modules and edit existing learning modules based on your educational experience.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled at time of internship as an undergraduate or graduate student at a Northeast Pennsylvania accredited college or university, preferably Instructional Technology majors 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Attention to detail
  • Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to professionally and confidently interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Time management with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Articulate Suite a plus
  • Ability to work 15-20+ hours per week
  • A preferred minimum GPA of 3.2
