BencoNet Support Specialist

Business Unit: Operations

The BencoNet Support Specialist provides technical support and assistance for dental office Server Message Block (SMB) networks, dental practice management software, imaging software, and digital dental equipment. The BencoNet Support Specialist provides support to customers and coordinates with outside vendors for additional support when necessary and provides customers with education on proper use and maintenance of their IT system, as well as information on basic troubleshooting procedures. The BencoNet Support Specialist partners with Field Support Technicians to assist with onsite implementation of IT and dental equipment and creates and maintains knowledge base articles on solutions to common issues, maintenance procedures, and best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for engaging with customers to identify their support need and provide resolution to that need in a timely manner 
  • Documents details of issue resolution within help desk management system
  • Documents solutions to common issues, maintenance procedures, and best practices within company knowledge base system
  • Installs and supportMicrosoft PC and server systems, Microsoft desktop business applications, dental practice management and imaging software, network based anti-virus protection, and security implementation
  • Participates in ongoing training to obtain required certification with key vendors
  • Remains well versed on IT and dental technology equipment and services
  •  Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
  • Adheres to department policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of work and SLAs to Benco customers
  • Travel is approximately 0-10 


  • Education: Associates degree in Computer Information Systems, technical school certification or equivalent combination of education/experienceA+, Network+, and/or MCP certifications preferred 
  • Experience: 3 -5 years in a technical support role; 1 year working with dental or other medical equipment preferred 

Skills Needed: 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills including the ability to generate technical documentation on resolutions 
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills. Comfortable listening and resolving conflicts with customers 
  • Strong knowledge of installation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technical support services including, but not limited to 
  • Hardware for desktops, laptops, and tablets
  • Hardware for small business servers
  • Microsoft’s currently supported Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Small business switches, routers, firewalls, and access points
  • Peripherals, printers, scanners, displays, and interface devices 
  • Small business data backup systems, software, and media
  • Business productivity software, email, web browsing, security software
  • Miscellaneous devices, cabling, memory, storage, add-on components
  • Domain, user accounts, software accounts
  • Network connectivity and wireless access issues 
  • Update and patch deployment, virus removal, malicious software removal
  • Healthcare related digital technologies, devices, and software preferred
