Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant role will be the main contact for all inventory and sales related requests, including performing research on transactions, providing guidance and proposals on resolving data and operational needs, maintaining inventory costs & unit of measures. Additionally, the role will prepare financial reports, perform account reconciliations, assist with audit preparation, perform system testing and other accounting duties as assigned. 

Do YOU Possess These Skills and Attributes?

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. SQL and Infor M3 experience preferred. 

  • Able to build constructive, collaborative, and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners to drive others to action and carry out management strategies. 

  • Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and goals, organize work appropriately, and adapt to changing priorities to meet and exceed goals. 

  • Highly organized, must be able to effectively manage multiple projects with a high attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Leadership ability to coordinate across multiple departments to see through full completion and resolution of items.  

  • Ability to analyze and interpret advanced themes from quantitative and qualitative data to identify and understand trends, aid decision making and problem solving, and drive results and change. 

Do These Responsibilities Interest YOU?

  • Operate as main contact for all inventory and sale related requests. Work cross functionally to understand the ask, develop solutions and ensure requests are followed through and resolved timely.  

  • Work closely with Senior Inventory Accountant on larger scale process builds, projects and new business initiatives. Staff Accountant will train closely with Senior on inventory items and both will develop inflow to manage incoming requests. 

  • Perform monthly close functions including: the preparation of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, calculation of accruals, allocations, analysis of results, and all inter-company transactions and consolidations. 

  • Participate in all bank and financial statement audits assuring all requests for information are completed by required deadlines. 

  • Perform system testing for new processes and systems to assure the integrity of the general ledger and?assist and test in the design of end to end processing.? 

  • Work effectively with the Financial Planning Department to ensure that actual and budget financial reporting is consistent to minimize "built in" variances and to provide accurate forecasts. 

  • Prepare and assist with the annual budget process for accounts as assigned by the Financial Planning team by the required deadlines. 

  • Provides financial information to internal and external stakeholders such as the bank, insurance companies, outside auditors, etc. in a timely manner. 

  • Identify and resolve potential risk to the company and driving change to limit future risk. 

  • Build effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners in establishing and testing new processes and procedures to create efficiencies as part of our continued process improvement initiatives. Seek to find efficiencies and implement best practices.  

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Do YOU Meet These Requirements?

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's Degree/CPA/CMA a plus. 

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a progressive Staff level position, with direct inventory and product sale focus.
