Position Summary:

This role leads Benco’s enterprise-wide data and analytics strategy, and our Analytics Center of Excellence.  In business for 90 years, we’re far ahead of the curve on digitization and innovation. We serve 20,000 dentists across the United States and in the process, we generate a wealth of data in areas like e-commerce, customer experience, supply chain, and operations. You’ll coach and mentor both individual contributors and managers as leader of our advanced analytics function. Areas of responsibility for this role include leading data engineering, BI dashboard development, data science, and reporting. The person in this role will enjoy getting into the details, writing code, digging into data, iterating quickly, and have a bias towards action.

Do These Responsibilities Interest YOU?

  • Develops our analytics roadmap based on a deep understanding of business needs and empathy with business partner challenges.
  • Translates understanding of business needs into concrete analytics requirements that empower team members to deliver analytics products that compel changes in corporate strategy and decision making
  • Provide oversight of project delivery across the complete analytics portfolio; manages objectives & key results
  • Direct cross functional center of excellence for analytics, including centralized governance for distributed analytics functions with a defined process for data management and quality
  • Stay up to date on emerging technology and trends and directs Benco’s data and analytics roadmap.   Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in designing and recommending appropriate analytical approaches and methodology across Benco
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to data & analytics team and staff. Works to ensure the data and analytics team has the right people in the right roles at the right time.  Ensures that associates are highly engaged and satisfied
  • Be an evangelist for data-based decision-making company wide and ownership of growing data literacy across the enterprise

Do YOU Meet These Requirements?

  • 5+ years of data / analytics leadership experience.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, Excel (or a comparable stack / tools)
  • Experience story telling with data and using visualizations to communicate insights from data (Python Matplotlib, Qlik, PowerBI, etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, other quantitative field of study.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision that inspires others to follow, including strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the data & analytics workforce.
