Director of Consumables Merchandising

Location: Pittston, PA
Business Unit: Marketing

We are seeking a Director of Consumables Merchandising who will be responsible for increasing consumables market share by effectively managing vendor relations, product portfolio, publications and promotions. The ideal candidate will possess, and develop, knowledge about assigned product lines to be a resource for customers, sales and the company to see trends and drive and maximize revenue/margin opportunities.

We provide more supply and equipment options than any other full-service distributor; including office design, equipment repair, practice coaching, financing and project management, wealth management and dental-specific technology solutions. These services are supported by over 400 professionally trained sales representatives and 300 factory-trained service technicians.

The Experience We Are Looking For:

  • Effectively examines market to select, develop and grow consumable sales with vendors that will increase the value, effectiveness and quality of care for practice of our customers. These products need to establish and support Bencoís reputation as the leader in innovation.
  • Examines product line portfolio to determine which products are needed to increase market share and overall profitability.
  • Performs a quarterly situation analysis of product lines, to determine changes and trends by compiling information from SDM, competitorsí catalogs, monthly journals, surveys of Territory Representativeís and customers, and surveys of key manufacturers marketing and Product Managers.
  • Increases sales of Benco Dentalís focused products through quarterly promotions. Works with vendor partners to secure special end-user pricing and financing to benefit the company.
  • Oversees the planning, creation, implementation and tracking of all marketing programs and advertising promotions in coordination with the marketing plan: including but not limited to target mailings, specialty flyers, sampling promotions, statement inserts, up-sell promotions, internal publications, web-based advertising and external publications.
  • Create spiffs and promotions for various products/vendors to focus and motivate the sales team.
  • Own Benco Dental vendor relationships including selection of the vendors for BencoBlu co-travel list and vendor rebates through sales performance.
  • Reviews the DDR, Big Deals, TIE and other publications for product selection and placement.
  • Selects vendors, clinical speaker and is responsible for achieving income budget for annual sales meetings.
  • Coordinates educational training sessions and regional meetings, provides literature, sales tools and samples to the sales force and customer service team.
  • Works with new and existing vendor partners to navigate through the end-to-end launch process, secure all necessary paperwork/tools/collateral to ensure an effective launch.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelorís degree in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years managing multiple product lines. Dental industry experience a plus.
  • Ability to communicate and possess highly effective presentation skills to both internal and external audiences
  • Ability to leverage multiple facets of technology
  • Efficiently team with and support the Marketing Team, Analysts, Supply Chain, Branding and Communication, Benco Brand and OneVisit Experience.
  • Attends regional meetings in the field, co-travels with territory reps/equipment specialists/field technicians/vendor reps and vendor site visits.
  • Work seamlessly with vendor partners to identify new sales opportunities, develop promotion programs and create monthly/quarterly/annual advertising campaigns
  • Ability to gather both internal and external data to gain insights for opportunities to grow market share and improve value to dentist and vendors.
