Return Goods Handler

Location: Pittston, PA
Business Unit: Distribution

Benco Dental, the largest privately owned, full-service dental distributor in the United States, is seeking a Return Goods Handler for our Home Office location in Pittston, PA!

Job Summary: Responsible for processing credits for returned merchandise, service credits, manufacturer coupons and rebates; processing vendor claims

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Open all packages returned by shipping companies, Benco showrooms and customers

  • Enter return authorization numbers into database for merchandise received

  • Accurately researches merchandise if no paperwork is found with items, to locate item number and warranty information

  • Ensure quality standards-Tags stock merchandise and parts with correct item number and location, to be returned to stock

  • Thoroughly check all items that are to be restocked including expiration dates, complete packaging, and appearance

  • Monitor inventory transactions for expired and pick error returns

  • Provide Inventory Control department with the correct inventory adjustments by completing daily adjustment form

  • Return all no credit value items which are non-reusable, expired, or incomplete according to No Credit Value policy

  • Process credits for non stock special order items based on manufacturer return policies

  • Return defective parts, small equipment, and other equipment to vendors for Benco credit

  • Research warranty items that are to be returned to vendor, in order to collect information such as serial numbers and invoice information

  • Contact manufacturers for approval to return merchandise by obtaining a return authorization number and completing and faxing the appropriate form

  • Complete credit for stock merchandise, parts, and small equipment

  • Monitor the vendor credit aging report in all DC warehouses to maintain departmental goal

  • Communicate with sales representatives, service personnel, and installers to verify credit values and obtain additional information such as nature of problem and product serial number

  • Issues vendor credit, and boxes and ships merchandise to manufacturer

  • Process vendor returns for recalls, dead/over stock inventory

  • Monitor the warranty tag report in all DCs to maintain departmental goal

  • Maintain manufacturer return policies and requirements and effectively communicates to the department.

  • Process credit and rebills according to request type and DC, and for in house repairs; turbine replacements, vendor claims

  • Reconcile replacements and no credit values stemming from vendor credits/demos

  • Maintain inventory control adjustments and distribute to the Inventory Control department on a daily basis

  • Communicate outstanding warranty returns with Regions to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner according to standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and company

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • One year warehouse experience

  • Ability to multi-task between special projects and routine responsibilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with strong customer service and computer and telephone skills

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and high accuracy

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment

  • Previous computer and inventory control experience preferred

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
