HR (Recruitment and Retention) Intern - Spring 2022

Location: Pittston, PA
Business Unit: Human Resources

Benco Dental, is seeking a detail orientated, highly motivated, and talented Human Resources Intern for the Spring 2022 semester, who is interested in learning and experiencing Human Resources from a very active HR Department.

The Human Resources Intern will perform a combination of administrative and project-based functions focusing on Recruitment and Retention. This position will gain valuable experience in all aspects of the Human Resources functions including:

  • Support the recruitment and hiring process by sourcing candidates, building talent networks, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and posting positions
  • Contribute to employment branding efforts by developing and updating content for Benco company pages on recruiting sites (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) maintaining a library of recruitment marketing materials, and creating email campaigns to market open job opportunities
  • Assist with the onboarding process and monitor pre-employment screenings
  • Help coordinate activities pertaining to Bencoís culture and associate engagement
  • Plays a key role in supporting and accelerating the organizationís progress on its collective Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals
  • Assist the Diversity & Inclusion strategy team by coordinating agenda/pre-work, committee communication, conducting project research/outreach and aides in leading the recruitment and retention sub-committee
  • Maintains a pulse on associate engagement via regular feedback and survey data; Execute improvement plans when applicable; ensures associates surveys are completed
  • Work in multiple Human Resources systems
  • Assist with developing and implementing continuous improvement processes;
  • Maintain accuracy of and update employee personnel files
  • Effectively communicate changes in company policies and procedures
  • Assist team members and staff
  • Support other day-to-day operations of the Culture & People (HR) Department

  • Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a Northeast Pennsylvania accredited college or university, preferably Human Resources majors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Attention to detail
  • Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to professionally and confidently interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Time management with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to work 15-20 hours per week
  • A preferred minimum GPA of 3.2
