Field Director of Equipment, Strategic Markets Position at Benco Dental

Position Summary:

The Field Director of Equipment, Strategic Markets will be responsible for leading the strategic markets equipment team, and for developing processes and continuous improvement ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire equipment sales process.  This includes developing/managing the equipment pipeline and building out better ways of quoting, ordering, projecting management, formulary development, working with regional Equipment Specialists, etc.  This role will initially focus on large groups, regional groups, and federal government equipment projects, and will eventually expand to include process improvement for schools and CHCs.  This role will also be expected to take the lead on some specific customer projects.

  • Ability to manage projects and lead teams
  • Ability to develop process and manage the equipment pipeline. 
  • Microsoft Excel and Word knowledge a must.
  • This position requires extensive travel. 

Do These Responsibilities Interest YOU?

  • Achieving equipment and technology sales goals for Strategic Markets.
  • Building and leading Strategic Markets equipment team.
  • Develop processes to improve the entire equipment sales process, including quoting, ordering, formulary development, end-to-end project management, etc.
  • Act as liaison between Strategic Markets team and other internal teams to improve ways of working, including with regional ESs/RMs, equipment directors, service teams, equipment coordinators, design team, etc.
  • Establishes productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned accounts.
  • Establishes productive relationships with key equipment and technology manufacturer partners.
  • Involved in strategic planning process as related to Benco Dental’s Strategic Markets equipment sales.
  • Leads, coaches and develops equipment team members.  Responsible for the roll-up of business that includes all Strategic Markets equipment and technology sales.
  • Will be responsible for leading equipment projects for key customers and working with the Sr. Equipment Partner on divvying up projects based on need and availability.
  • Maintains in strictest confidence the strategic objectives of Benco Dentals’ Strategic Markets Department. Including strategic objectives, sales goals and objectives, profit margins, gross margins, customer lists, and other critical information.
  • Proactively assesses customer needs; while bringing solutions and solution based ideas to address customer needs.
  • Effectively communicates with all Benco personnel within Benco Dentals’ Strategic Markets.
  • Utilizes Benco’s systems and programs to document and foster activities. Including documenting and sharing of information with FDs/ESs/ECs/Service as needed. Allowing full access to information to those personnel deemed necessary.
  • Displays a high sense of urgency to customer’s needs, and other requested information.

Do YOU Meet These Requirements?

  • Must have deep dental equipment/technology knowledge and sales experience; prior experience as an equipment specialist strongly preferred. 
  • Special markets background and strong knowledge of special markets is preferred. 
  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution, or minimum 5 years sales experience, or like experience in business to business environment.
