Position Summary: 

Responsible for leading the Company’s Accounting and Tax efforts; providing input across all areas of the business and driving process change; managing monthly closes (journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.), performing variance analysis; leading external financial and bank audits; completing various projects including new process systems and reporting.

Do These Responsibilities Interest YOU?

Financial Statements, Reconciliations & Financial Audits:  

  • Accurately prepares monthly financial statements and supporting documentation for Benco Dental and related family entities.  Ensures proper recording of transactions into the general ledger and in accordance with GAAP.  Effectively evaluates and implements ongoing opportunities to reduce closing cycle time. 

  • Ensures all company reconcilements are up to date, accurate and properly documented.  Determine standards for reconciliations (accounts, timing, frequency, and format) and ensures that all reconciling items are followed up and cleared on a timely basis. 

  • Assures integrity of accounting systems through periodic testing of critical systems and recommend requests, tests enhancements and modification. Maintains open communication with TIS and software vendors. 

  • Lead the annual external financial and bank audits and coordination thereof with applicable management, staff and employees at Benco. 

Internal Reporting & Controls:  

  • Ensures appropriate internal controls are deployed throughout the organization giving consideration to cost/benefit.  Establishes and publishes appropriate accounting policies in a timely manner and proactively advises CFO and Director of Finance of unusual transactions/variances. 

  • Works effectively with the Financial Planning & Analysis Department to ensure that actual and budget financial reporting is consistent to minimize “built in” variances. 

Management:  

  • Oversee the following financial departments & functions: Accounting. 

  • Continually recruit, train and develop a first-class finance team.  Review the talent pool and determine if it possesses the right skills needed for the future finance organization. Provide leadership and coaching that fosters an environment of problem solving, improved business practices and attracts and retains superior financial talent. 

  • Timely updates with Finance Manager team meetings.  

  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and company.

Do YOU Meet These Requirements?

Education:  Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent education/experience 

Experience:  Five plus years.  CPA license; management experience
